Autoradiographic images of various activated windows, tested at positions close to the mercury target location, have been used to measure the AGS beam spot size for experiment E951. The size obtained is smaller than previously assumed. MARS calculations indicate that energy densities equal to those expected for the 1 MW option were achieved during this experiment.
