Hybrid Absorber for the RFOFO Ring Cooler

Abstract

A special absorber for the RFOFO ring cooler is proposed.
It presents a flat cryogenic vessel with liquid hydrogen
and inserted lithium hydride wedge. Its advantages over a
liquid hydrogen wedge absorber are a simpler design and
thiner aluminum windows. Cooling simulation shows that the
RFOFO cooler with this absorber has higher performances.
