Abstract:
Linear Non-Scaling FFAGs have, particularly for muon acceleration, a unique
type of longitudinal motion. This longitudinal motion can be approximated by a
parabolic dependence time-of-flight on energy. This motion can be described in
dimensionless variables with two parameters. I describe the relationship
between the parameters and the distortion of ellipses in longitudinal space.
