Abstract:
We have examined the effect of a dipole error on the performance of the 15 T alternating solenoid
lattice. We find that an integrated dipole field error of ~0.5 T m is required to significantly
degrade the performance of the channel. This means the lattice is ~1000 less sensitive to this
type of error than was previously estimated.

REVISION
We correct several typos in the original document. None of the conclusions are altered.

(p.s. I was informed that the error in the previous estimate mentioned above has been found and
that new calculations are underway)
