Abstract:
The Mercury Intense Target (MERIT) experiment is a proof-of-principal experiment to determine the feasibility of using a free-stream mercury jet as a target. The in-beam experiment was conducted at CERN between 22 Oct - 12 Nov, 2007. This paper describes the operation of the mercury delivery system and provides some of the initial results.
