Abstract:
The BNL D2 beamline is modified to transport 187 MeV/c muons to the ionization cooling apparatus. An overall efficiency of 1.20E-6 muons per proton is determined. Making reasonalbe assumptions about the experiment, this translates to 2.29E9 protons per Main Injector cycle.
