Abstract:
The design of the cooling channel is being optimize using ideal magnetic fields. In an actual magnetic channel, intrinsic imprecisions that occur in the fabrication and assembly of the solenoids result in magnetic field errors. These field errors produce effects, in general detrimental, that tend to increase with the length of the channel.
